Balance with Dots and Lines ; Cosmos
Artist Jeong. Park's work is mainly composed of dots and lines.
Dots and lines intersect vertically and horizontally, forming relationships and maintaining balance in space.
A dot is like a ray of light from the beginning. A new universe is born when a single point exists in infinite empty space. A point is also the smallest unit of all things. Dots connect to form lines, surfaces, and objects.
A line is formed by connecting dots. When directed in a certain direction, it forms a perfect straight line, which is the simplest form with infinite mobility.
The artist uses only concise and refined line movements of vertical and horizontal in her work. Dots (stillness) and lines (movement) intersect vertically and horizontally, creating a strong tension. It hangs in the air and is in perfect and absolute balance within the Earth's gravity.
